The property is on a private drive and Ruth gives instructions on how to locate it.
Ruth gave us a very warm welcome and gave recommendations for local eateries.
The house was clean and spacious with a large living room with views of the garden. We had lovely sunny weather so also had the opportunity to sit outside. The kitchen is fully equipped with condiments and Ruth also put a pint of milk in the fridge for us. The beds were exceptionally comfortable and being on a private drive, it was very quiet. We all slept really soundly. There is an upstairs bathroom and also a downstairs toilet with another shower which was really handy as my parents don’t manage the stairs as well as they used to. Also, the bathroom towels were lovely and soft.

The... read more hall was cozy to watch movies at night. Kitchen had everything needed for preparing a meal, if needed. The neighbourhood was so peaceful and beautiful. Ruth was very responsive to all my questions. The pictures online don't do justice as the place is extremely beautiful. We should have stayed an extra couple of days.

Off street parking always useful in a central location.
Ruth was on hand, pleasant and informative.
Great stay overall, would highly recommend and we will return.

We... read more would have preferred top sheets on the beds (this is always provided in Australia)….this may be a UK thing.

Also the single bed covers were too small for us as we are tall. It’s always good to have king single duvets for a single bed.

The hot water was not great…. It was either too hot or too cold. Being an old house this may not be something that can be easily fixed.

Overall however it was wonderful.

The neighborhood is very walkable, albeit hilly, but safe and friendly at all hours. Lake District trails are within a few steps of the front gate.

The classic Edwardian house was perfectly fitted out for the five of us with comfortable bedrooms, convenient bathrooms, lounge, gardens, secure parking space and a well equipped kitchen.

Ruth with her lovely pup is an excellent host, providing a warm welcome, local attractions advise, and helpful responses to any questions.

I would highly recommend this home to folks who want a roomy, clean and convenient space. Being aware of the stairs to bedrooms and the hills in the neighborhood, our group was up for the good exercise involved!

The house is a nice mix of an old family home with modern amenities: the kitchen is well equipped, the living room is spacious, games and puzzles available for our children. Ruth added an inclusive half-day lake cruise which we were able to use on the yellow route from Bowness to Lakeside.
